Supporting speech on a day to day level doesn't have to feel impossible. Even though it may be hard to stay on top of your child's speech therapy sessions during the COVID-19 pandemic, here are some tips to encourage language skills development:

Play Games

Choose games that are interactive so that your child responds. Turn-taking games are especially good for this Remember to make it fun!

Name Items Around the House

Did you know that identifying and labeling household items can help your child's expressive language skills grow? This is especially helpful for younger children who are trying to build vocabulary.

Read Books

The more the merrier! Reading books together will help your child develop language skills. Pause at the end of sentences to give your child an opportunity to chime in or fill in the rhyme.
